New Statement of Feasibility for the LRD

As part of the ongoing Technology Certification process within the Loadcert Project, Dublin Offshore contracted DNV to perform their technology qualification process (aka ‘Approval in Principle’) for the Load Reduction Device (LRD) under the new DNV standard for Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (DNV-SE-0422)

The purpose of technology qualification is to identify, risk assess and mitigate areas of technologies with aspects of novelty or higher than acceptable risk. Technology qualification is described within DNV-SE-0422, which has been used to guide the process undertaken for the LRD. In addition, the interfaces of the LRD with other systems have been assessed and reviewed by DNV as part of this scope.

DNV has now verified the Certification Basis, Technology Assessment, Failure Mode Identification and evaluated the main challenges of the technology as reported in the Certification Report. The technology thereby suited for certification according to DNV-SE-0422 applying the Certification Plan.

There are no Conditions to this finding and No outstanding issues have been identified from the Statement of Feasibility document review process for the Dublin Offshore Load Reduction Device.

Dublin Offshore and DNV will continue working through the wider certification process for the LRD which will conclude by Q2 2026 – updates will be provided in due course.
